In Think, award-winning writer Michael LeGault refutes the breakout bestseller Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thought and explains why thinking is relevant to our everyday lives and overall quality of life.
The 2005 bestseller Blink argued that we can make good decisions without factual knowledge or analysis-our first impulse is best. Nonsense, says author Michael LeGault-snap decisions can lead to incompetence and failure. Our government’s faulty thinking and failure to act upon information has allowed preventable disasters to occur. The instant gratification of junk food and pop culture has made our children’s grades plummet and their weight sour. And the self-esteem movement, therapy culture, and proliferation of learning disabilities have robbed us of personal responsibility, making us dependent on others to make simple choices. A voice of reason amidst the mindless chaos, Michael LeGault doesn’t ask you to like him or agree with everything he says-he only asks you to think.
